MUSEUM EDUCATOR

Work Schedule: Part-time/20-30 hours per week with potential for full-time

Duties, Guidelines and Areas of Responsibility:

  • Learn specific School Tours presentations and teach the material to visiting school groups throughout the year
  • Travel to off-site locations to present Outreach School Tours
  • Work with the School Tours Coordinator to create and implement new programming
  • Work cooperatively with other Amazement Square staff
  • Adhere to a strict dress code
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Represent Amazement Square in a professional manner
  • Ability to critically think and implement ideas
  • Ability to tactfully enforce guidelines of Amazement Square to general public
  • Ability to supervise guests of all ages, youth through adult
  • Management experience/ college degree preferred
  • Basic computer skills- excel, word documents required

GALLERY STAFF

Reports to:Assitant Manager of Operations
Work Schedule: Part-time/ 25-35 hours per week

Schedule varies and may include weekdays, weeknights, weekend days and evenings and after-hours private events. Shifts are typically 7-7.5 hours/ 4-5 times per week

Duties, Guidelines and Areas of Responsibility:

  • Facilitating and interpreting gallery environments including, but not limited to: The Paintbox, Music Room, River Gallery, Crane Exhibit, Front Desk, Museum Shop and Roamer Duties
  • Cleaning and maintaining exhibit environments and communicating areas of concern to appropriate departments
  • Responsible for overall presentation of exhibit environments on a daily basis
  • Being a thinker and a doer- must be able to offer suggestions and input in all aspects of the gallery position once acclimated
  • Make each visitors experience an AMAZING one
  • Maintaining specific areas of responsibility as assigned
  • Contribute to special events and after hours rentals as necessary
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, participants and general public
  • Work cooperatively with other Amazement Square staff
  • Adhere to a strict dress code
  • Other duties as assigned

SKATEPARK FACILITATOR

Responsible to: Museum Administrator, Skatepark Manager
Work Schedule: Part-time/ 15-25 hours per week

Schedule varies and will include weekdays, weeknights, weekend days and evenings and after-hours private events. Shifts are typically 4-5 hours.

Duties, Guidelines and Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide a visible presence, supervise participants, and enforce guidelines promptly and consistently throughout the Skate Park
  • Accountable for receiving and recording all on-site membership, registrations and daily passes.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, participants and general public.
  • Work cooperatively with other RCRS/Amazement Square staff.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing immediate First Aid and/or CPR as necessary.
  • Submit accident/incident reports immediately to the Skate Park Manager and/or Vice President for Operations.
  • Be accountable for monitoring Skate Park phone use during shift.
  • Responsible for participant check in and attendance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility including litter pick-up.
  • Uphold professional appearance including wearing staff shirt or sweatshirt.
  • Check skate ramps for safety. Notify supervisor of problems or needed repairs.
  • Closing shift is responsible for securing supplies and entire facility.
  • Contribute to special events, presented at Skate Park. (e.g. Competitions, Concerts, Parties, Clinics, Contests, Programming)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Represent RCRS/Amazement Square in a professional manner.
  • Ability to tactfully enforce guidelines of Skate Park.
  • Current first aid/CPR certification required.
  • Experience with conflict resolution preferred.
  • Willingness to contribute in creating a safe & positive environment in the Skate Park.
  • Ability to supervise skaters of all ages, youth through adult.
  • Experience supervising youth in a recreation setting preferred.

EXHIBIT TECHNICIAN 
Amazement Square seeks an Exhibit Technician 20-25 hours per week. Responsibilities include monitoring and conducting routine maintenance of all exhibits including computers, electronics, and musical instruments and assisting with fabrication and  installation of exhibition components. The ideal candidate will have computer experience, technincal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented setting. College degree preferred.
